  • Owned content decisions on single-focus projects and ad hoc requests in collaboration with design, product management, and engineering partners.

  • Owned UI wireframes for content-heavy parts of the user experience, which included incorporating stakeholder feedback and prepping mocks for handoff to engineering.

  • Wrote and socialized playbooks for outbound notifications, including email, push notifications, text messages, and emoji usage.

  • Implemented comprehensive new-product taxonomy, while ensuring alignment with existing platform and industry terminology.  

  • Drove user research for a new type of notification. Conducted user interviews, synthesized findings, presented areas of opportunity to relevant business owners.

  • Demonstrated content design thought leadership via org-wide design critiques and mentoring junior writers.

  • Drove a redesign of the website for the Amazon.com homepage design system, including information architecture and page layout. Improved consistency and efficiency by creating templates and documentation for design system updates.

  • Wrote and implemented global emoji usage policy for outbound notifications, U.S. Amazon.com homepage, social ads, and third-party sellers. 

  • Implemented the first standardized, cross-org process to intake and correct content and design errors on the U.S. Amazon.com homepage, as well as identify teams with frequent issues to provide coaching opportunities. 

  • Served as the lead reviewer for content placements on the U.S. Amazon.com homepage and global outbound notifications. Areas of consideration were usability, accessibility, and adherence to Amazon brand standards.

  • Supported designers and product managers in 19 countries through Amazon-wide UX writing office hours.

Content Editor – Retail Experience Design & Amazon Live | Jan 2017 – Oct 2020

  • Created the U.S. retail and marketing style guide, used by all product, design, and marketing teams across Amazon retail businesses.

  • Supported all content writing requests for approximately 30 teams. Created an intake and triage process that included tiers of service, standard SLAs, and guidance for teams whose requests fell below the prioritization line.

  • Wrote landing pages, outbound notifications, and other marketing content to support Style Code Live—a livestreaming fashion and entertainment show hosted on Amazon.com.
